The United States education system is far from perfect. You can probably jot down many concerns, whether an educator or a parent/guardian. Who has control over that issue? The classroom teacher or the school's principal does not control the problem. Many states and local governments have power over education, and where to share your perspective is essential. It can make changes to outdated laws. It can make communities better, which helps the parents and guardians. New perspectives can help educators get the respect and resources they deserve. Having frustrations is valid, but who to tell your concern to is critical to moving education forward. It will help everyone, especially our students.

State governments wield much power in education. State legislatures can be full or part-time, so the link above can be a great resource to see when your legislature meets.

School Boards and School Board Elections - Ballotpedia

School Boards are central to school power. Many School Board members are elected officials. Historically the members were appointed by the mayor. Appointed members remain the case for select areas, which is why the Ballotpedia resource can be helpful.

Education laws were made in times of segregation that need to be changed. Students should have equitable access to programs and be given many areas to showcase their potential. Educators deserve to have an environment where they are treated with respect. If you have concerns, share them with those who make the laws and can amend them.

Stunning Jade is here to support and empower educators and parents/guardians. You are vital stakeholders in helping raise kind and successful children. Thank you for all of your hard work. If you need anything, feel free to contact us.
