About Us

Welcome! We are glad you are here. My name is Melissa (she/her) and I am the Founder and Chief Education Officer of Stunning Jade. I taught History and Social Studies for six years before staying home with my toddler. Education is ever changing and quite frankly the environment in many schools seems stressed. I know my former colleagues are and I wanted to provide a place for reassurance and resources. There are also many parents who are doing a great job and wanted to support them how to understand the education system better.

Why Stunning Jade?

Sometimes in life or in education someone would be labeled by others as jaded. Examining the definition jaded can mean fatigued by overwork. (Webster)

However jade is a beautiful color. It is unique and seems to have a shine to it. That is what people can be. We can use a person’s experience and turn it into a strength, into a beauty and to make some positive change in the world.
